Build a Dino Defense Royal Egg

Stand at the egg

The Royal Egg is a world object. The panel that opens is titled ROYAL EGG. It is not a tab inside DINO INDEX and it is not a row in DINO SHOP. The left rail can stay on Abilities, Shop, and Dinos while this panel is up. The control you press is the button that says HATCH [E].

Under those words the button shows a hexagon and the number 79. There is no dollar sign. Frost Egg, a different world label, is the one with $10000. If you only have cash and the hatch button will not fire, you are looking at the wrong currency.

Copy the five percents

Ancient Protector 36.4%. Air Wyvern 28.4%. Electric Wyvern 20.5%. Flame Wyvern 9.1%. Galaxy Rex 5.7%. That is the full grid in the frame. The percents add to 100.1 because each figure is already rounded to a tenth. Do not go hunting for a missing 0.1% prize. It is rounding.

Ancient Protector is the result the panel expects you to see most. Galaxy Rex is the rare one. Air Wyvern is more common than Electric Wyvern, which is more common than Flame Wyvern. The portraits use their own colors. The panel does not stamp Rare, Epic, or Legendary on them.

1 in 18 is not a promise

5.7% is close to 1 in 17.5, so about 1 in 18 hatches is a fair way to say Galaxy Rex. Eighteen hatches is the average, not a guarantee. At the average you still miss often. If you stop at 18 because a guide told you the Rex was due, the panel never said that. There is no pity number on this screen.

Thirty hatches at 5.7% is still not certain. The useful plan is to decide how many 79-cost hatches you will spend, then stop. Ancient Protector at 36.4% will show up in that budget. The Rex might. Flame Wyvern at 9.1% is the one people forget is rarer than the two blue wyverns.

These names are not index dinos

The 33 index dinos end at Titanosaurus. None of the five egg names are in that list. Hatching Galaxy Rex does not fill the Juvenile Tyrannosaurus card, and owning Juvenile Tyrannosaurus does not change the 5.7%. Different screens, different rewards.

Do not assign the egg portraits the index pills. We do not have an HP, DMG, SPD, or wave for Ancient Protector. Putting Titanhorn's 6K HP on that portrait would be a guess. Until an egg result has its own card, the only numbers are the percent and the 79.

Frost Egg is cash

The world label FROST EGG with $10000 under it is a cash purchase sitting on the grass. It does not show the five percents. It does not say HATCH [E]. Neighbors' base values in the same shot are not the egg price. Read the words Frost Egg and the price directly beneath.

$10000 is a lot next to index dinos and a little next to Elite Traps. Tar Pit was $180000. You can buy Frost Egg and still be nowhere near Salvage Crane. You cannot buy it with the hexagon count on the Royal Egg button. Different icon, different number.

When to hatch

Hatch when the board you need for the next boss is already claimed. If you are on wave 13 and you do not own Pachycephalosaurus, the $30 card does more for that fight than a 5.7% Rex. If you are past wave 80, Dimorphodon is $320 of cash, and the egg is 79 of the other currency. They do not compete unless you are short on attention, not on cash.

The egg will still be there after the wave. The shop timer will not. If Bone Mender or Tar Pit is in stock and you actually need the sentence on that row, do that first, then come back to HATCH [E]. The egg has no New items in countdown in the frame we shot.
